Underwired Bras, also referred to as Under-Wire Bras or Under Wired Bras, are designed with a wire which is built into the underside of the bra. The purpose of the underwire is to provide support to the breasts and assists with shape and lift too. The wire inside Underwired Bras is usually made up of a thin strip of plastic or metal. The underwire runs along the length of the bra cup which adds stability to the bra. Underwired Bras are the best selling bra design on the market even though the underwire itself is prone to breaking over time. A bra that does not utilise an underwire is known as a Soft Cup Bra.
